Forensic DNA analysis provides information that can speed up investigations, eliminate innocent suspects, and convict guilty criminals. DNA evidence helps to assure justice in the criminal justice system.
The technology is becoming increasingly crucial as a tool to collect evidence that assists investigators, prosecutors, and defense attorneys during all phases of a criminal investigation and trial.
Unfortunately, many state forensic laboratories are overwhelmed with backlogged DNA samples. We believe that poses a serious problem for the criminal justice system.
